STUDIO COYOTE
Studio Coyote is the flagship program for Coyote Central. For the last 38 years, this program has fueled the Creativity of 10-15 year olds by engaging them with emergent and professional teaching artists in various mediums. This program runs year-round, following the Seattle Public Schools’ calendar. Youth in Studio Coyote engage in 20-21 hour TA developed experiences that allow them to lead with their ideas and imagination, take creative risks, build community, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! During the Winter, Spring, and Fall, you’ll find lookout for 21-hour weekend sessions as well as 20-hour weeklong sessions over breaks. During summer we host 8 weeks of Studio Coyote summer camp with courses running from July - August.
TUITION & REGISTRATION UPDATES:
To ensure program sustainability and combat the rising business costs, in Fall 2024 full program tuition will increase by $11 from $375 to $386. Tuition includes critical organizational costs such as 21 hours of Teaching Artist time and your youth's course materials. Courses that require a Studio Assistant for support (Culinary/Wood/Welding) will have a tuition of $448.50. Studio Assistants are paid support who ensure spaces with professional tools, i.e., commercial stove, MIG welders, Chopsaws, etc., have the critical supervision and safety required.
With the tuition increase comes the removal of all remaining tiers. Our highest priority is ensuring program sustainability for our mission and the thousands of youth we serve annually.
How does this affect you? There are three options available to you for your youth’s participation in Studio Coyote.
FULL TUITION PAYMENT.
PAYMENT PLAN: When registering for programming you can enroll in the payment plan option. This will allow you to make payments towards your youth’s registration. At the time of registration, 25% of tuition costs will need to be paid to reserve a spot in a course. If you need support with registration, please call 206-323-7276 or send an email to Central@coyotecentral.org.
If you benefit from the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) offered by the City of Seattle, programming costs can count towards this funding.
PARTIAL or FULL SCHOLARSHIP: With the removal of tiers, we will continue to offer opportunities for partial Studio Coyote scholarships. To request a Partial Scholarship, you will now complete a form located on our website. Please include the amount you can contribute and the course you are interested in signing up for. A rotating panel of community members will review all scholarship requests, and scholarship awards will be notified in early October. Please note, at this time we are not able to award all scholarships each season.
